i'm assisting dr. mohammad pourhomayoun on a nasa-funded project using spatiotemporal machine learning to predict air quality and its downstream effect on er visits. my role has been on the data and modeling side, helping build out the pipelines that connect air quality readings to hospital admission patterns. it's the kind of project where the model actually has to hold up against real public health data, which is a different kind of pressure than a class project.
